RALEIGH, N.C. – Stewart, a multi-discipline design, engineering and land planning firm, today named Lee Anne Nance as its new chief strategic officer (CSO).
As a member of Stewart’s executive leadership team, Nance’s primary responsibilities as CSO include brand and market development through new business and strategic partnerships, strengthening relationships with new and existing clients, building positive awareness of the firm, as well as strategic planning and implementation of initiatives. Nance will oversee the marketing and communications team at Stewart.
“Now, with more than 200 employees, the size and steady growth of Stewart requires the experience in management, big-picture strategy and economic development work that Lee Anne brings to the table,” said Willy Stewart, CEO of Stewart, Inc. “She not only has the broad perspective and experience required to excel as CSO, but also understands the human element and connections that must happen at all levels of our business. Lee Anne holds the respect of the entire leadership team and we are honored to have her on board.”
Nance most recently served as principal of Britt Nance Collaborative, LLC, an economic development and marketing consulting practice. Prior to starting her own business, she served as chief operating officer at the Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP), managing implementation of the region’s strategic growth plan as well as regional marketing and branding activities.
“Through my economic development work as principal of Britt Nance Collaborative, I’ve had the chance to work extensively with Stewart,” said Nance. “Now as the company continues to grow, it’s a special opportunity to bring my talents and expertise to a company with a culture I love, developing its brand and presence in existing and new markets.”
Active in the economic development community, Nance will continue her work serving on the Executive Board of the North Carolina China Council, as well as the Campbell University School of Engineering Advisory Board. She also remains an active member of the Duke Energy Advisory Council and the North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA).
“We’re already identifying opportunities to connect my economic development network and experience with Stewart’s community and business needs in tangible ways,” said Nance. “I look forward to building on these efforts while marketing such a diverse set of practices within one great company culture.”
Nance holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics from North Carolina State University.
